Clear Expectations

To use Synap effectively and safely, it’s important to understand what it is not designed to do.

Not a Financial Advisor

Information, Not Advice

Synap provides market data and executes transactions, but does not give financial advice.

What This Means

Synap shows you market data and trends
Synap executes trades you request
Synap explains what transactions will do
Synap does NOT:
  • Tell you what to buy or sell
  • Predict price movements
  • Recommend specific investments
  • Guarantee any outcomes

Your Responsibility

All trading decisions are made by you. Synap is a tool that helps you execute your decisions, not make them for you.
Always do your own research (DYOR) before making any trading decisions. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Not a Custodial Service

Your Keys, Your Crypto

Users maintain control of their funds through their embedded wallet. Synap only executes transactions that users explicitly approve.

Custody Comparison

FeatureCustodial ServiceSynap
Holds your funds
Controls private keys
Can freeze your account
Can move funds without permission
You have direct blockchain access

What This Means for You

  • Full ownership: Your wallet is yours
  • Direct access: Withdraw anytime without permission
  • No intermediary: Transactions go directly to the blockchain
  • Self-responsibility: You’re responsible for your wallet security

Not an Automated Trading Bot

No Autonomous Trading

Synap does not make autonomous trading decisions. Every action requires user initiation and confirmation.

Bot vs Synap

  • Trading Bots
  • Synap
  • Execute trades automatically based on algorithms
  • Run 24/7 without user interaction
  • Make decisions autonomously
  • Can execute hundreds of trades per hour
Coming Soon: Automated actions will allow setting triggers, but these will still be user-defined rules, not autonomous AI decisions.

Not a Guarantee of Profit

Trading Carries Risk

DeFi trading carries inherent risks. Synap helps execute trades but cannot guarantee outcomes.

Understanding the Risks

Token prices can go up or down. Past performance doesn’t indicate future results.
Some tokens may have low liquidity, leading to high slippage on trades.
DEXs and tokens are built on smart contracts which may contain bugs or vulnerabilities.
For future LP features, providing liquidity carries impermanent loss risk.

Risk Mitigation Tips

Start Small

Begin with amounts you can afford to lose while learning

Diversify

Don’t put all your funds in a single token

Research

Understand what you’re buying before trading

Set Limits

Decide in advance how much you’re willing to risk
